What Now?

The calendar has turned again to another year.  For many years people have used the turning of the calendar as a fresh start.  Resolutions, dreams, goals, whatever you want to call them, set to make a difference in your life.

I’ve set them before and failed, and I’ve set them and succeeded too.  What’s the difference?  What helps you succeed and reach the goals you set for 2023?

Here are a few ideas:

1.  Make your goals measurable.  Within each goal should be attainable steps toward the main goal.  Document your progress.
2.  Make your goals attainable and realistic.  Yes, you want to dream big, but you also want to have a dream that will take some work, but also be worth it.
3.  Focus on one day at a time.  Don’t miss.  Don’t think about January 1, 2024, next month, or even next week.  Commit to daily work and pile that work, those days, on top of each other.

Here are just a couple more thoughts.

1.  How many?  Whatever you feel comfortable with, but the quantity of your goals should not outweigh the quality of your goals.
— I have six goals for 2023.  I call it five plus one.
2.  I read this quote from John Maxwell the other night and it makes a lot of sense.  “Most people simply accept their lives – they don’t lead them.”

Take charge of your 2023.  Lead yourself through it.

Let me know if I can do anything to help you set or strategize your dreams and goals.

I’m cheering for you.

My Top 10 Posts of 2022

Today’s post features my Top 10 Twitter posts of 2022. It has been a fun year writing consistently every day.

As you look back on 2022 you have likely experienced many emotions, but through it all here you are, with 2023 directly in front of you.

The negatives help you appreciate the positives.
The failures just set you up for victories.
The disappointments pointed you toward happiness.
The anger was replaced by composure and peace.
The hardships turned into blessings.

You may not be totally through some of these yet, but it’s coming. Believe it. Stay persistent and resilient through the end of 2022 and into 2023.

Looking back at 2022 has been fun. I took some time to research the top 10 posts that I had viewed using Twitter analytics.

Thank You to everyone who continues to read my writings every day and those that also subscribe to the 5 Moments Newsletter every Thursday.

My goal continues to be to not necessarily inspire 1000’s, but to help at least one person per day. If we all do that then our world will be in a better place.

Be Blessed.

The Power of One

Each chapter of the book, The Power of One, ends with a few self reflection you can use to think about or journal. Could also be used as discussion questions for a book study.

Self-Reflection
1. What have you started that you need to finish?
2. Have you had trouble finishing a project or task in the past?
a. Did you eventually finish it in a timely manner?
3. What small steps can you take consistently to help you finish something you need to finish?

The Power of One remains on sale for the next four days.
