Remember Where. Remember Who.

Continuing lessons learned by one night at The Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar in Nashville, TN.
—–
About halfway through the show on that Monday night a couple of weeks ago one of the musicians on stage announced that there was a guy in the crowd who had just released a new single.  His name is Taylor Tuke (@taylortuke).

It wasn’t long before he was on stage.  First playing the organ, then out front doing one of his original songs.  It was awesome, and it reminded me that it is important to remember where you come from and who you really are.

When you love doing something you can’t get enough of it and look for opportunities to continue to do it.  No matter what amount of success one is blessed to experience I believe you never really forget where you started.

It is also important to remember who you really are, what you really love to do, and then pursue it passionately.  We are happiest when we are doing what we were meant to do.

The Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar has that on display every day and night.  People doing what they love, regardless of what they are getting paid.

Success is not defined by your checking account.  Success is defined by being able to do what you love.  When you remember where you came from and who you really are I believe you have a greater chance of achieving that kind of success.

I’m cheering for you.
