Day 5: Riding Life’s Current

“No man steps in a river twice,” Heraclitus said. Life’s an ever-flowing stream—always shifting, never static. Fighting it exhausts us, but flowing with it? That’s where growth lives. Ecclesiastes 3:1 (ESV) echoes, “For everything there is a season…” I’ve resisted—new jobs, moves, losing Mom—clinging to what was. But God’s in every twist, shaping me through the current. Letting go of my old step goal taught me this—change isn’t the enemy; it’s the sculptor.
What shift can you embrace today? Maybe it’s a challenge—a diagnosis, a job loss—or a chance, like my 5K. Each bend’s a lesson, refining us for His purpose. I’ve fought change, digging in my heels, only to find peace when I let go. Beauty emerged—stronger faith, new dreams—when I stopped resisting. Life’s not meant to stagnate; it’s meant to move. I’ve seen folks drown in the past—don’t miss the now.
Trust God’s hand in the flow—He’s steering you toward good. Step into the river; let it carry you. How does this view shift your lens? Change isn’t chaos—it’s creation. Lean in, and let Him mold you into something vibrant and new. What will you flow with today?
