Stacking Stones Devotional

Day 12: Anchor in the Tempest

Storms test faith.  The disciples panicked, yet Jesus calmed the waves (Matthew 8:26, ESV).  My mom faced her final storm in 2004—mysterious illness, coma, gone in weeks—whispering, “We’ll just have to trust Jesus.” She did—I can too.  He’s got this, even when I doubt.  Where’s your storm raging?

Mom’s trust wasn’t blind—it was battle-tested. Hundreds prayed; God took her home.  He’s the same Savior who stilled seas—faithful then, faithful now. I’ve doubted in my storms—job woes, grief—but He’s never failed. Lean on Him—He’s proven.  Trust isn’t just for sunny days; it’s for chaos.  What’s shaking you? He’s bigger—calming, guiding.  I’ve clung to control, only to lose it—surrender won.

Rest in Him—fear fades when faith rises. How will you lean today?  Mom’s words echo—trust Him.  He’s your peace—stand firm in your storm.

Questions:

  1. Where do you struggle to trust Jesus in your storms?
  2. How can you lean on Him today?
